Epworth Veggie Garden
The snow is slowly starting to melt. Hopefully by the end of the week all the snow will have melted in the garden. Because of all the snow we've had this year, it will probably be close to the first of April before we can work the soil. I'm sure there will be places where water is standing in the garden and we'll need to come back and add compost and maybe a bit of peat to amend the soil.

Here in Bloomington, Indiana, this is the first year in about five that the ground has still been frozen in mid-February. We've had a spell of warm weather the past few days, though, and folks are starting to sow spinach seeds and other cold-hardy crops.
ReplyDeleteI work for a small organic seed company in town that is just starting up. We have a seed donation program that might interest your group - check us out or send me a note at maggie "at" naturescrossroads.com. Happy gardening!
